A day at Alea
The doors open at 10am and the live tables start at 2pm. Everything closes at 6am. Call 0141 555 6100 to check before you go.
Tables and machines
On the live tables: blackjack, American roulette and three card poker. You'll also find slots and electronic games. For food there's the Waterfront Restaurant, plus a Long Bar and a Sports Bar. Alea runs Challenge 25, so carry ID if you look under 25.
If you're new to table games, arrive soon after the tables open at 2pm so you can watch a few hands first. Ask the dealer about the minimum stake before you buy chips; it varies by table.
The poker area
Cash games and tournaments run every day. Alea says it has the highest table limits in Scotland.
Tournament start times and buy-ins change, so phone ahead for the day's schedule. If you're only staying one night, plan your poker around the tournament you want rather than the other way round.

Parking
Guest parking at the hotel is free, and the hotel is outside Glasgow's Low Emission Zone. That means an older car won't pick up an LEZ charge getting here.
Coming by public transport, check your last bus or train before you head to the casino. With the tables open until 6am, a taxi is the sensible way back if you're not staying on the quay.
A night on the quay
- Check in from 3pm and park for free outside the hotel.
- Have dinner at Alea's Waterfront Restaurant.
- Tables open at 2pm and stay open until 6am, so pick your own finishing time.
- Walk back along the quay to the hotel. It's close, but stick to the lit paths.
- Breakfast is extra; decide when you book whether you want it.
The honest view
This pairing is all about value. You get free parking, a budget room and a casino with long hours and a busy poker room, all on one quay by the Clyde.
It's a good fit for poker players and anyone driving in from outside Glasgow who doesn't want to worry about parking or the LEZ.
The hotel is basic: small rooms, a bunk in the triple and breakfast at extra cost. The casino and hotel are separate businesses, so there's no combined booking or package.
